Akron Children’s Hospital is seeking a BC/BE Pediatric Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physician to join and lead our Division within our expanding NeuroDevelopmental Science Center (NDSC). The Director, will join a group of three pediatric physiatrists, and will play an integral role in the expansion of an established pediatric rehab program, including outpatient as well as inpatient practice in our newly appointed, 4-bed inpatient unit.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to clinical excellence, clinical education and research. He/she will have a strong interest in program development and have a broad clinical knowledge to develop new and grow our existing program offerings which currently includes a Myelo clinic, Neuromuscular clinic and a Spasticity program. Our current providers have an interest in and provide botulinum toxin injections, pediatric EMG and nerve conduction as well as baclofen therapy.
Under the direction of Dr. Roger Hudgins, the NDSC brings together 6 pediatric specialties – Physiatry Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Neuropsychology and Psychology in one physical and functional unit to deliver the best outcomes and quality of life for patients. This outstanding opportunity is an academic/clinical position with appointment at Northeast Ohio Medical University encouraged. We are fully integrated with Rebecca D. Considine Research Institute and have full PhD, PharmD, statistical and nursing support for clinical research. We also have a PhD within the NDSC who assists all members with protocol inception, design, conduct and publication.
