Staff Nurse

  • Position Summary:

    Provides to individuals and groups, nursing care requiring specialized knowledge judgment and skill derived from the principles of biological physical, behavioral, social and nursing sciences. Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and directs nursing care with a family centered care focus for individual/group of patients within scope of practice, as assigned on a unit. Works collaboratively within an interdisciplinary health care team. Acts as a resource person for staff. Participates in cross coverage efforts with other Heart Center staff. May be assigned other duties based on departmental needs. Acts as a customer service representative for CHMCA by promoting the “Spirit of Service” attitude, exhibiting the attitudes and behaviors that comprise the House Rules regarding greetings courtesy, respect, empathy, communications, privacy, silence, cooperation, appearance, confidentiality, initiative, and anticipation.

    Position Qualifications:

    Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and currently licensed as a registered nurse in the state of Ohio,. with at least one year of pediatric experience. Current HealthCare Provider BLS required. One-year exposure to cardiac open heart preferred. Pediatric Emergency Assessment Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) required within one year of hire. Self motivated; able to work independently. Strong communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and organizational skills required.BSN preferred. For new employees hired into positions posted on or after July 1, 2013– BSN required or must obtain BSN within 5 years from date of hire.
