Job Details:

  • Position Summary:

    Provides to individuals and groups, nursing care requiring specialized knowledge judgment and skill derived from the principles of biological physical, behavioral, social and nursing sciences. Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and directs nursing care with a family centered care focus for individual/group of patients within scope of practice, as assigned on a unit. Staff may be temporarily assigned to an area throughout the Akron Children’s Hospital enterprise, based on patient needs requiring similar knowledge and skill.

    Qualifications:

    Graduate from an accredited (or pending accreditation) school of nursing and currently licensed as a registered nurse in the State of Ohio. BSN preferred. Current Health Care Provider BLS training is required. PEARS is required for all RN=s assigned to general care units, PALS, ACLS, TNCC and/or NRP is required within one year of hire for critical care areas, ED, Surgical Services, Sedation Services, and Transport. American Heart Association (AHA) is the organization designated for BLS, ACLS, PEARS and PALS B for clarification see Department of Nursing Training Requirements for CPR and Resuscitation policy.

    Critical Care Experience Required.
