Nurse Practitioner Intensive Care Neonatal

Position Description:

Works under the direct supervision of the attending neonatologist delivering medical care to neonates. Responsible for assessment, planning, coordination of care, discharge planning, nursing care delivery, evaluation and documentation of care. Works collaboratively within an interdisciplinary health care team. Acts as resource person for staff for specialty area. Staff may be temporarily assigned to an area throughout the Akron Children’s Hospital enterprise, based on patient needs requiring similar knowledge and skill.

Qualifications Required:

Licensed (or eligible) to practice in the state of Ohio. Minimum of 3 years neonatal nursing experience. Certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, graduate of an accredited program with current Certificate of Authority. BSN preferred. Current Health Care Provider BLS training is required. PALS, ACLS, TNCC and/or NRP is required within one year of hire.
